Effective July 26, 2023<\/h3><p data-start=\"289\" data-end=\"382\">Beginning July 26, 2023, the total testing time for the TOEFL iBT\u00ae test will be reduced to approximately <strong data-start=\"304\" data-end=\"336\">2 hours<\/strong>.<br data-start=\"340\" data-end=\"343\">This update is designed to reduce test fatigue and improve the overall testing experience for examinees.<\/p><p data-start=\"384\" data-end=\"417\">The revised TOEFL iBT\u00ae test will include the following changes:<\/p><ul data-start=\"419\" data-end=\"570\"><li data-start=\"419\" data-end=\"459\"><p data-start=\"421\" data-end=\"459\"><strong data-start=\"421\" data-end=\"439\">Shortened Reading Section<\/strong>: Two reading passages with 10 questions per passage<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"460\" data-end=\"543\"><p data-start=\"462\" data-end=\"543\"><strong data-start=\"462\" data-end=\"480\">Updated Writing Section<\/strong>: The Independent Writing task will be removed and replaced with a new task titled <em data-start=\"497\" data-end=\"535\">Writing for an Academic Discussion<\/em><\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"544\" data-end=\"570\"><p data-start=\"546\" data-end=\"570\"><strong data-start=\"546\" data-end=\"570\">Removal of Unscored (Dummy) Questions<\/strong><\/p><\/li><\/ul><p data-start=\"572\" data-end=\"652\">In addition,<strong data-start=\"585\" data-end=\"612\"> improvements to the account creation and test registration process<\/strong> will make registration more convenient. <strong data-start=\"623\"
