test will be updated.<br data-start=\"246\" data-end=\"249\">The major changes are outlined below.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-eb6fd65 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"eb6fd65\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3>Introduction of a Multistage Adaptive Format for Reading and Listening Sections<\/h3><p data-start=\"364\" data-end=\"454\">Beginning in January 2026, the Reading and Listening sections will adopt a multistage adaptive testing format, in which the <strong data-start=\"414\" data-end=\"446\">difficulty level is adjusted progressively<\/strong> based on the test taker\u2019s performance.<\/p><p data-start=\"456\" data-end=\"539\">In addition, test content will reflect the types of English used in real college settings, including classroom discussions and project-based assignments, while also aiming to reduce cultural bias in the topics and materials presented.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d5664fe elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"d5664fe\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3>Addition of an International 1\u20136 Score Scale Alongside the Existing 0\u2013120 Scale<\/h3><p data-start=\"603\" data-end=\"687\">Beginning January 21, 2026, TOEFL score reports will include <strong data-start=\"659\" data-end=\"679\">the new 1\u20136 score scale<\/strong> in addition to the existing <strong data-start=\"636\" data-end=\"652\">0\u2013120 score scale<\/strong>.<\/p><p data-start=\"689\" data-end=\"819\">The new 1\u20136 score scale is aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and is designed to help universities and institutions interpret TOEFL scores more consistently across different language proficiency frameworks.<\/p><p data-start=\"821\" data-end=\"860\">Both scoring systems will appear together on <strong data-start=\"824\" data-end=\"852\">score reports for approximately two years<\/strong>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-96c3893 elementor-widget
